I love clay, I love pots and I love drawing

but it is in the quiet spaces of my studio at Welbeck

where I bring these three passions together

to make the pieces you see here on my website.

For the past eight months I have been working on an exciting new body
of work which is to be exhibited in the ‘Award’ exhibition at the British Ceramics Biennial 2025.

My project ‘Challenging Terrain’ has been selected alongside the work
of nine other artists, to be shown at the Spode Works, Stoke on Trent.

For Award 2025 I am using clay to explore how the climate crisis is causing the weather and seasons to become increasingly extreme.

Using porcelain, my experimental thrown vessels expose the fragility
of ever-changing landscapes. I have been embracing what happens when
I impose unacceptable conditions on ceramic structures. I have created
a precarious collection of related forms, ranging from flawless to distorted and damaged which demonstrate the impact of abusing inherently beautiful structures.

The BCB runs from 6th September – 19th October 2025 10am – 4 pm daily.
